my comp just wet the bed and i need a new one, the virtual memory went and i would need to replace the motherboard to fix it. im thinking about maybe getting a mac. i've never had an apple before and i want to try them out. how good are the programs available for macs at backing up movies and then burning them?
ive always had windows, and have been using dvdfabdecrypter and then shrink. problem free with those 2. backing up movies isn't what im looking for in my comp, but it is a feature i use often so i don't want to lose the ability to do that. i've heard of "mac the ripper" but i know very little about it.

can you guys please give me some info on the program, and let me know what you think of mac's in general.

mac the ripper and toast is about it for mac

if you want to rip/burn DVDs i would strongly consider sticking with windows
