    Hi everyone,
well my problem is that every time I start up my computer which is running vista home premium 32 bit it asks for drivers for an unidentified device. At this time it gives me the choice of installing the drivers, ignoring for the time being and not showing this message again for this device. If I try to install the drivers it makes me look online and soon after says that could not find drivers. If I press ignore it works normally until the next restart at which point I am asked the same thing again. And lastly if I press the don't show this message again button, the mouse disappears. After it disappearing I have tried many things to get it to work again but only system restoring to an older time has worked.
I have looked in device manager and it believes that there is an unidentified CD-Rom.
I only have one DVD-RW rom and its working perfectly. I also made sure I didn't have any emulation like Alcohol 120% on which I use to run backups as my son likes to be rough with CDs. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I hate going through system restore every time someone accidentally presses don’t show this message again.
    Once again thanks in advance

Do your mouse actually work? Or is just showing up as a CD Drive?

Is it a usb mouse? If so try going into the bios and checking that "usb emulation" is on.. No idea where that might be..

Failing that get one of those usb/ps2 adapter things. If it's a ps2 mouse already then it just proves that vista is retarded.

The mouse is a usb mouse . It works fine if i click remind me on next start up option. But the message comes again when i restart. I will check the mouse emulation after work and get back at you
