I've been burning with Shrink and DVDDecrypter for several yrs. now and all of a sudden I keep getting errors during the burn session. Error message says failed to write iso image. Thought my burner had gone bad so I installed a new HP burner and same thing happens. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

have you tryed a clean reinstall of the software?

you burning engine could play a big part in the problem too try using imgburn

http://imgburn.com/

and as said the media you use is huge. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim is what you want to use burning at 6x to 8x max on a clean machine (disc cleanup and defragging often) with the most up to date firmware for your drive/burner

I have been using Phillips media for a couple of years with no problems until now and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software and same thing happens. Is it possible that one of the movies I've backed up has installed something to make my pc act up?

Unreliable blank media. We see a lot of burn errors and playback problems that are usually the result of cheap blank media. So many times Newbies refuse to believe that such a trivial thing as blank media can cause burn errors, or playability problems, but it's true.

Step One: Upgrade thy media. Stick with Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, like Zoso suggested.

Step Two: Replace Decrypter with ImgBurn, also previously suggested.

I have imageburn installed but can't figure out how it works. Will it work with movie files I have already ripped with dvddecrypter and dvdhddecrypter. Is there a link to dvddecrypter so I can redownload it in case my version is corrupted.

Imgburn works only with iso files, therefore

1)Imgburn mode>build (create iso file from dvd files)
2) Imgburn mode>write (write iso file to disc)

I just created an iso file with shrink, then burned AVP Requiem with imageburn, all went well. Then repeated steps with another movie and during the burn I got this warning.
W 20:49:00 Waiting for buffers to recover...
W 20:49:14 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level...
all went ok but am wondering why i got this warning. could it be some kind of background activity which is interfering with dvddecrypter and imageburn.

Were you multitasking during the process?

Did you change your blank media as suggested multiple times?
