I am new to the modding scene and wondered if anyone can help me. I have used iprep to make a bootable usb stick and when I get to the point of turning on the XBOX360 it does not detect the drive, the code that is output does not change. It says:

    Status: 0x7f

I have a Asus P5B Motherboard which seems to have a Intel ICH8 chipset on the SATA. Is this supported or would I be better off getting a SATA PCI card? If so, which one?

I am trying to use the BenQ iXtreme Firmware

with some further testing it seems that if I use the SATA port 3 then it does indeed flash between 0x51 and 0xD1 but then when i turn off and back on the xbox it just continues flashing between the two and doesn't go to a constant 0x73...

All other Sata ports just stay as previously described.

I also have two external sata ports - would it be worth running through the process using these??

    Thanks in advance!

I also see that this is what is described for my Motherboard - should this work or do I need to buy a Via Card?

Serial IDE: Six SATA-300 ports, four controlled by the south bridge (ICH8) and two controlled by JMicron JMB363 chip (RAID0, RAID1 and JBOD on these two). One of them is located externally.
