I'm like a dog with a bone I want to sort this. in April Eurovox 2 stopped working. I've fathomed out how to manually input the codes, so got it working again. I got fed up of doing this so wanted to flash the unit with the latest firmware.Bought a USB232 converter, turned out the terminal end was male, the unit input was male so bought a female to female converter. the cable came with a small cd, downloaded and installed the driver to run the cable. Downloaded the firmware a winrar file, and extracted the DnUpman-cable 050415 file plus the Ev2 fix 140408 core 070506 bin file. connected the eurovox to the computer via the cable. ran the software. the software goes through all the ports that the unit is connected to but cannot find it. the unit is connected to comport 4. if I sellect this, I get the message waiting for the receiver. I have switched the power on and off to the eurovox, but makes no difference. I have tried all the other firmware files for the other Eurovox boxes, and none of these will find the unit. I am certain that mine is Eurovox 2, the silver one with 2 scart sockets, bought about march 2006. I've hit the buffers
can anybody help.

along with the usb serial converter you need a null modem cable 9 pin female to 9 pin female but has to be a null modem cable not an rs232 or any other cable

you are a star, I'll get one. I got the USB 232 Converter. when I saw that the pins were wrong, I bought a small metal adaptor from maplins. not because of the cost of buying the proper cable about a metre long. I just thought I didn't need the extra cabling. will now buy the proper thing. thanx. will report back if I succeed.

first of all tcb.cc is what the bigmaq toolbar is called and secondly it is one of the first eurovox boxes the version 2 one silver and two buttons on the left one on/off and the other exit button then it has a navigation type button with ok/menu button in the middle and the vol up down and ch up down on either side. i dont know if this is of any use but it has a sticker on the bottom with RAM384CXA0602 000899 written on it.

Since flashing the unit, I have had a couple of problems, but have decided to live with them.
Sometimes the T.V. screen goes green, I pull the plug out, this corrects it.
Sometimes there are no listings, again I pull the plug out, this corrects it.
I've never had any trouble with the remote.
Would not know how to return the unit to it's original factory running software.
No doubt there is someone out there who can help you. good luck.

you will need to no wether its red or blue, red has 8vents running the lenght of the tuner(on top of the box)leading from the rf in,blue has 12 vents all firmware is in eamos library under my pic (so no need for dodgy toolbars)also he needs to no if its a blue box wether its a clone or genuine again all the info is in the library in the eurovox folder.

the box that i have is before the red box the design is not the same as the newer boxes ie the max boxes it is silver in colour and more squarer i think it is the eurovox 2 box with two scarts and the tuner runs down to 12 vents has white ribbons green capacitors shiny cover on the scarts and a flatter squarer remote, the problem is that i cannot get anything to work all i am getting is channel 9 on radio no sound nothing no buttons on the box or the remote work.

my box has green components with brown tops it has white ribbons and not a bunch of tangled wires and it has a h&v logo maybe because it is an earlier box ie comparing the flap to your pictures it is located on the bottom half and runs about two thirds across the length of the box. cheers mate much appreciated.

Disconnect from the mains and open the screws around the casing. Look inside and see if it has a reset switch. Press it and close the casing back on with the screws and connect back to the TV and see if that helps.

Sorry I have no other ideas , maybe Scouser has a trick up his sleeve and he can help you out tomorrow :)

Dunno if you tried this :

If you have a mobile phone with a camera, switch it to camera mode. Point the remote at the camera lens and press some buttons , and you should see the infra-red LED flashing on the screen. If you don't see it flashing, then yes, the remote is dead.If you do see it flashing, then it's not the remote.
