I've been making backup copies for awhile now, mostly copy to copy, but when I started downloading online movies, I had no idea how to convert the many different files (Xvid, avi, dvdrip, etc...) to Vob, or vts files, so I can use my other programs to burn them (DVDFab, AnyDVD, DVDShrink, etc...). I tried to use Xilisoft-DVD-Creator today, and it looked like it did the job, but when I played the movie, there where watermarks across the screen throughout the whole movie! I read the directions a little more, and if I didn't pay some wild price per movie then that's what I would get! Can anyone help me with this media that I'm a newbie at. Can this be done with the software I already have, or is there a free conversion program out there? I need help with this, after I wasted many hours downloading the movie to begin with.

The Xilisoft you downloaded was the trial version and thats why there is a watermark. I used DVD Flick and found myself with lots of problems and coming in here needing pretty much step by step directions (even with the guide) to imrove quality.
If your willing to pay (like I did) i personally like Xilisoft, you even have the option to make a menu and with the files you have you can easily put 2-3 movies per disk.
What type of files are they? avi,Xvid, ETC

Try DVD Flick, it's easy breezy! Will make you some awesome DVDs with a crisp and lovely image:~)! Will make you menus, attach switchable subtitles...will do everything for free, same thing that you'd expect a 100$ soft to do for you!

First you must update DVD Flick. You might be using an older version that does not support menus.
When you open DVD Flick, you click on the "Edit Title" tab:

I just checked out the copy of dvd flick you are talking about , and it's still in beta. I won't install anything thats in beta, to many bugs. So i will just wait ,and use the one i have till the final release.. Thanks again for the heads up, i will watch for it.

That is great, but i've had 2 real bad problems with beta programs, and refuse to download any more. They messed things up so bad i had to reformat. So i'll wait. Thanks again

That's odd. I also have been using the beta version with zero issues thus far.
