Got a Dell C640 4 my kid. (used) worked good for a few months. then all went bad. cut on computer and before you can press start at bottom left corner. several things started dwn loading (think a virus) and 1 that wouldnt uninstall. i cant remember the name. within minutes it wiped out all icons on desktop. i couldnt even shut it down. so i held the power button till it cut off. now when i cut it on all i have is a windows screen WITH NO ICONS AT ALL. tried hitting f8 but there are no restore points. i do nOt have a reStore disk. can anyone help me get this computer BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS???

to try and get the icons back and do a virus scan, hold ALT+CTRL+DEL
click New Task and type Explorer.exe

You're going to have to boot up in safe mode. Whilst your computer is booting, it will tell you which button (normally F8).

Once you're in safe mode, you can either retreieve your serial key, and reformat your computer, or download and install something free like Avast Antivirus.
