I new to BitTorrent and have downloaded version 6.0.3. I also use Norton Internet Security 2008. My router is a Netgear WNDR3300 and I have UPnP enabled. I can't seem to get the firewall configured correctly so that the port is forwarded properly. BitTorrent is telling me to use port 44132. My operating system is Vista Home Premium, but I am having the same problem on another computer with XP SP2 and BitTorrent port 6188. Help please.

Download the latest stable version of uTorrent from here >> http://www.utorrent.com/download.php and use that as your client as it's the best imo. Set your port to somewhere between 50000 and 59999 and it should be ok.

I used to use Norton years ago but it is crap and takes up too much of your pc's resources as in memory ect... so as soon as you get torrenting, grab yourself Nod Smart Security and replace your Norton.. You'll thank me for it :)

Anyway for starters download utorrent as use that as your client :)
