    Hi all,

I am using Windows XP. Whenever I shut down my computer, I am asked to "install important updates". Once I click the shutdown button it would install the updates and shut down my computer. This is fine, that's what it is supposed to do.

However, I already have installed this update before. This update has 9 installation parts to it. Ever since then, whenever I shut down my computer it requests to download these updates again. This has been occurring for a month now. I am aware that there is an option to "turn off without installing updates".

Is there a fix to this problem? I would greatly appreciate it.

Use Internet Explorer, and use the online update tool. Hide the update it's trying to install. I had the same prob, I think it was for MS Outlook or something, but I didn't actually have it installed.
