hello all . i'm using azureus 3.0.5.2 version , latest java but i encounter the following problem : always yellow smilies in downloads. Checked the azureuswiki.com faq for possible NAT problem and when i take the NAT/Firewall test in azureus it says '' OK ! '' . Also when i check the seed/peer list from the tracker (private) it says that i'm connectable .
However , the part i mostly don't get is this : when i check ''show details'' --> ''peers'' in a download , it indicates that only I have established the connection (L) and not the peer (R) - +and+ the smilie is yellow . On the contrary , when i check ''show details'' --> ''peers'' in a seed it shows both (L) and (R) - +and+ the smilie is green . Needless to say that with yellow smilies the speed is miserable (right now 10kB/s ) .
I don't know if this has anything to do with that ,but i have DHT disabled (because of the private tracker) .But if DHT stops other peers outside the private tracker to ''see'' me , how come the downloads from the same private tracker be constantly yellow ?? Seems not even peers from the private tracker that are also connectable cannot see me . please help! azureus shows 10 kB/s --> 303 days :-/
I get this.. change your port, add the new port (both tcp and udp) into the windows firewall exceptions.. turn encryption on and then restart azureus... It's your isp playing traffic shaping games by remotely blocking ports..
problem solved . i enabled DHT and i disable it only on per-torrent basis (for private tracker torrents) . downloads are again green (both private and public) . also noticed that sometimes a private torrent needs to be stopped/resumed several times for it to get green - probably because of tracker overload .
Mine is green with dht disabled completely. Think it may be tracker dependent, but I have caught my isp blocking ports. After a few hours they lift the block so you can revert to it. It has become so bad here that I now use a rolling port script which changes the port randomly in the range 55555-65111 every 4 hours regardless of block. It's fun setting it up to change the router to the same port as well ;)
::note for windows users:: probably not possible for you unless you can specify a range of exceptions through your firewall and router and know how to customize azureus.
