I just downloaded the trial version of these 2 programs & was really happy with the results..but i dont want to fork out $170-(canadian) to buy.
Is there a similar free "alternative "?

If i could BUY them in a store i would..i just feel better about having a hard copy disk (kwim)?
thanks for any suggestions~~~

DvdFab Platinum is a good alternative.

The price goes up on the 8th. So buy before then and you'll get lifetime updates.

Platinum comes with a few more bells and whistles. That's the version i purchased and use most of the time.

Right now...it's well worth the money...so if you're interested best pick it up before the 8th!

Ok,,,the thing is im not Familiar with Fab....Im afraid if i get it i will become brain dead & wont be able to figure it out. ;-(

at least with anydvd & clone dvd I already know how it works...so IF i do buy...it will be anyDVD.
do they ever have special promotions when i can save a % of the total?

Even tho the time limit is gone on FAB the program still opens up does it not, looking @ the interface you have automated options it's as simple as that, tho i prefer to rip with it fab then use shrink to edit to my needs tho fab can do it also, learning curve ? what curve would that be :p

edit: fyi i bought both fab platnum & the full slysoft package,i use fab 99.9% of the time to do movies

^Agree. Anydvd does rip cleaner than Fab does. I use FixVts after some rips with Fab just to clean it up a bit.
