about a year ago i had the problem of not being able to back up my dvd movies using dvd-r disks. the dvd+r disks has always worked with my burner. at that time, one of the members said that i had roxio on the computer and it was interfering with burning on a dvd-r disk. she sent me a program to remove all of the roxio files and after using it, my problems were solved. now i'm having the same problem again so does anyone know or have the file to remove the roxio? one other thing, when i burn a dvd using nero photoshow, the dvd-r works fine. my problem is they don't work backing up my dvd movies.

Are you using Nero?
Post a history log for a failed burn.

Nero 6 log
Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 log
Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory.txt
or
Program Files\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Ahead\NeroHistory.txt

Nero8
Program Files\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Nero\Nero8\Nero Burning ROM\NeroHistory.txt

also Nero and Roxio don't play well together so originally that may have had something to do with your problem? RoxiZap exe. maybe the program you used before ? Good luck

A log could help in finding the source of the trouble.

if your auto burning with nero 8 after using dvd shrink thats the problem. you need to create a ISO file to the HDD first then burn with nero 8 or autoburn with imgburn instead. you will need to download this.
