ps3 to monitor connection????

Alright so I'm about ready to call it quits and buy a new hdtv cuz of my situation. I have a 22" Viewsonic vx2235wm and I am tryin to connect a ps3 to it, but apparently it isnt hdcp compatible. Before i knew this though i bought an hdmi to dvi cable, and that didnt work. But recently i bought a VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable for PC Video from Amazon, and when I tried to hook it up, that didnt work either and the monitor just kept searching for a digital signal. So my question is, is the HDCP affecting the VGA connection, or is that not possible? And if it is the HDCP, would it be worth it to buy an HD Fury adaptor or not? Really all I want is to hook up the ps3 to the monitor, hd isnt that important to me.

im pretty sure it has to be HDCP compatable to hook it up to ur ps3.

im not a 100% about the furry i think thats wat u would need, but not to sure, and u dont get sound from that either, ud hav to set up ur sound another way. b/c that line would just be for video.

HDMI is the only output that requires HDCP. You can still get HD through component cables. Get a component to VGA adapter if your monitor has VGA. If not, get a component to DVI.
If you really want to, yeah, the HD Fury will work.

component to vga? u connect the vga to the monitor than where do u connect the component wires to? as far as i know the ps3 doesn't support component connections into it.

ur best off getting the furry better than getting a new monitor.

Apparently the newer monitors with that model number have been switched to hdcp, I'd look into it further to figure out if you got an hdcp version or not.
