I have a jap imported ps3,and all my other games work fine. I recently bought GTA$ and it wont play on my ps3 at all. When i put it in i get an error code and asked to change my video output settings. Any idea how to change the settings so it'l play. I know you can do somehting like this aswell for the 360. Any ideas on how to slove it?
I believe that GTA4 have been region coded. The reason for its is some countries like Australia and I am sure theres a few more in europe frown upon games like GTA4 and Manhunt. In GTA4's case instead of completely banning the game, they are getting a dumbed down or even a "watered down" version of GTA4. So GTA4 have been region coded so people that live in said countries can't import the North American copy of GTA4. Sorry to have to break the news to you.
GTA 4 is not region coded. But you need to have it running through a TV that supports 720p upwards. The settings can be changed in the PS3 "Display Settings" menu. My PAL copy of GTA4 is working perfectly on my NTSC PS3 through my bros HDTV. If I try to run it through a scart it gives an error message.
Japan NTSC is the same as North American NTSC so that wouldn't be the problem. As he said, his other games work fine. The problem is that Rockstar has been region coding their new games.
Then why is my version PALGTA4 working perfectly on my NTSCPS3? You think they've all of a sudden thought "Knackers, better region encode this!"? If that is the case that sucks for Artorius.
i searched and found out that gta 4 for ps3 is not region coded. None of the ps3 games till now are region coded.My cousin has US ps3 and he bought a palgta4

only hd tvs supported just buy one and set the system up for it miniumum 720p
