Ok, so i was just looking at PS3 hard drives on ebay and i looked at a 60gb HDD which came out of the 60gb console. The seller says that the 60gb HDD will allow you to play PS1 and PS2 games. Is that true?
I thought it was something inside the PS3 that allows you to play them, not the HDD its self.
NO IT IS NOT TRUE!!!
The NTSC 60gb use hardware to emulate and the 60gb PAL version uses software(dunno why they couldn't make the 40gb software emulate PS2 too)
I have the 60gb PAL ver upgraded to 160gb and works as a charm.
ya word up ur harddrive has nuthing to do with ur emulation of games its just a storage device, all ur emulation of games is based on ps3 hard ware and software depending on ur ps3 model , nuthing to do with the HDD
I dont keep much up with the ps2 games on the ps3 scene but as far as i know u cant play them off the HDD, u can play burned ones(backups) with the switch swap method but i think thats it.
If its anything downloaded from the PSN, you can redownload, cuz it saves everything in ur account, but for other media, you might have to transfer to an external HDD first, and then switch the HDD's and move them back.
