iBook G4 help

    ok ive got myslef an Apple iBook G4 and im new to macs. so please bare with me on this matter hehehe.

    i notice very very slow boot up i know this system has 512mb ram
    30gig hd and i think its 1.2 speed cpu.

    now sometiems i just get a white screen some times it will go to the grey apple logo.
    an sometimes it will have the grey apple logo and the apple under it with a cirlce an load the OS.

    but i have to restart it about 5 times to get into the OS

    now ive gotten into it severl times even after reinstalling the os

    but for some reason the os dont wanna load

    im sure its me or something ive done


    however id liek to get this fixed to where it works correctly

    because i want to sell this system ive noticed the same set up as ive got go on ebay for about 400$ an more even

    any help whould be really greatful

    ok well im having troulbe getting this thing to boot.it just sets at a white screen an i know there is an os installed.

    Ok Welcome to the world of mac.

    Ok here is the list of several issues with the ibook g4

    1. Logic board failure this is common with the g3 and g4 ibooks but because your machine seems to have issues booting i would say it isn't this.


    2. Hard Drive failure this happens to be what may be going on with your machine you may need to replace the hard drive.


    the only other choice i can see that may work take the g4 ibook into a apple repair shop and have them look it over or you can try to replace the hard drive yourself using the tutorials at ifixit but most likely it is your hard drive.

    it sounds like a hard drive going bad. do you hear any clicking or ticking when you turn it on?
