Just been asked by a m8 to upgrade his firmware for him as he hasnt got it sorted since the update. He has 2 boxes, one of which ive updated no probs as it was a 2008 max v, but the other one i havent had any experience of. Can any1 please identify this box for me and point me in the direction of the corresponding firmware. He has assured me its not a clone btw so ill take that as it is. The box looks like this: I think its a 2007 max red ?? but dont know how to tell the diff between the red and blue ones ? This one has a fold down front on it to access the card slot but no other identifying features. Many thanx to those who can help
yeah its defo red or blue but you can never be sure if its a clone or not first thing to do is where the pipe goes in rf in there is a little box that cotinues off the connection inside the box it goes back so many vents count them ..... 8 red box ... 12 blue box or maybe a clone but blue clones can be fixed aswell

OK thanx for that. The RF in unit spans 8 of the air vents looking at the top of the machine, so i take it its a red box. Next question, are there clones of the red ? If i try to flash it tonight using the newest red firmware and it is a clone will it brick the unit or is it something i can re-flash using the clone firmware ?
i havent heard of many red clones just compare it to the blue clones it should be the same as a genuine blue box if its genuine only difference is the receiver going back so many vents id say its genuine so go up to the links above and you should be grand .. latest firmware for red is dated 21/04/08 good luck
