What SL7 said......
And I'll add that I had an hitachi drive that wouldn't read any thing as well. It turned out to be the motor that runs the laser eye. It took me 2 laser eye replacements to figure that one out.
In the end, I just replaced it with a sammy ms25 drive that was given to me though. :)

its not media problems if it doesnt load originals still. you FW is screwed up, either its not on it at all, or it made a crappy hacked one that doesnt include the 'real' firmware. if you managed to save the orig.bin flash it back to that, and try it again.

You may be right. I was basing my post on having a flashed drive that worked great for months before giving issues.
So, I guess it would help to know if this was a fresh flash or if it was working great after flashed then suddenly had problems.
It's all in the details. Or lack of......

ya, mine was based off it working before the flash, and no after it was flashed.

This is what I like to see. Posts based on experience..not guesses. We have covered both sides of the fence now. Maybe we can zero in on the in between if needed. :)

ya, im sure we could, but then we would be assuming that the OP will actually reply to anything anyone has said thus far, which he has yet to do, so either he fixed his problem without telling us, or he doenst have a clue whats going on.
