I'm getting a new PC that has Vista Home Premium installed (Dell 530 E2200 3Gb mem w 500Gb HD). I have a new OEM Win XP SP2 I want to also install on it for a dual OS.

I was thinking of partitioning off a small piece of HD, say 30 Gb and installing XP to that.

Anything I should be aware of... Does Vista play nice?

I've read that you want the OS's on a totally separate drive, but I'm unsure. I dual booted for a while, but I had XP on one drive and Vista on another....I've since kicked XP to the curb.

After reading feedback, rather than mess up my new Dell (it's really for the wife to do her stuff with anyway) I decided to put it on my older PC; dual booting with Win 2k. That seems to be working OK. I'm hardly using 2K any more and will probably set my select time down to 1 second on the dual boot at start up soon.

    Thanks for the info.
