ok Im new to linux

    ok Im new to the whole linux scene so please bear with me here is what I have

    Sabayon Linux 3.4 miniEdition: Released

    intel motherboad DG965WH

    ok so now I have installed it and everything works audio and video but I cant get the network adapter to work so I have to install the driver but Im so lost its not even funny so I need really in depth instructions on how to do this a vid would be awsome butreally detailed instructions would be good too thanx

    Are you sure it is a case of needing to install the driver? I saw a Gentoo page which suggested that the driver you need should be in the kernel.

    Your problem is perhaps more to do with you not having configured the network. ifconfig should tell you if there is a card detected (such as eth0).

    Seeing as you're essentially playing with Gentoo now, read this. Instructions don't get much more step by step than that, I'd suggest reading pretty much the entire thing at least twice if you're going to stick with Sabayon and want to learn a few things for yourself.
