I am looking into buying an xbox 360 after this disappointment of the last one bought over 2 years ago where it just died out and wasnt displaying a picture. What is the reliability of the latest batches of consoles?

I see they have hdmi ports now? are these changed hardware wise and proven to be more reliable or is it just the same old hardware problems?

the newest wave have been upgraded with better fans and better soldering, so weve been having less reports of the red ROD

the biggest difference is the extra heatsink and better CPUs they are using in the newer models
