Hi all. My 360 got the RRoD. I got my 350$ back from the store and decided to pick up a 360 Elite. The only thing i had on my old 20GB HDD was my game saves and my gamertag. If i recover my GT will I be able to get my old game saves and gamer score back onto my elites 120gb hdd? thanks.

Note that once you do this there is no going back, the 20GB drive will be formatted and blank again and you can not transfer stuff back.

well, i returned my old 360 and i dont have the old hdd with all my game saves and stuff on it. can recover my gamertag onto my new elites hdd? the only data on my old hdd were my game saves and gamertag. will they get transfered over if i recover my gamertag?

Gamertag = on XBOX LIVE server you can recover it from any 360 with a internet connection and a storage device.

Game Saves = on storage device, if you don't have that storage device you can't get your game saves anymore.

I've had 2 360's stolen from me now and i'm on my second elite. It really sucks that ms can't save your saved games on their server but it would be just too much clutter. Just accept that your saves are gone and start over, sorry man.

damn, well I did put my saves on a memory card, can I transfer them to my HDD?

I would think so...I don't have a memory card but I'd imagine if you go to it and highlight a saved game file it should have a transfer option.

even if you could not do a transfer yu can play the game loading the save from the memeory card, then when you get to a new save point it usually asks you where you want to save it. Then just choose the HDD.
