Hey all, I download Wii ISOs and recently received a e-mail from my internet provider saying that if i did not stop, they would have to take action. From then on, I haven't been downloading. Does anyone know any programs which can block anyone from knowing that you're downlading these files? Some tips on this would be greatly appreciated as well.
look here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 i like peer2guardan, it auto updates and lets you import block lists that people have compiled!
Yes, it does block utorrent, and is compatible with Vista, i was using it for a while, but it kept having some msg pop up on my screen, so i just got rid of it
Oh okay Do you think you could get me the link for it? I couldn't find a Vista compatible one on google
p2p guardian is meant to be run with p2p applications like utorrent? it doesn't block it its running fine on mine and everyone else's! and usually a program meant for windows will run on vista so yes im pretty sure that p2p guardian will run on vista @KC108 read the link i gave you, it shows you how to block your isp from tracking your downloads and keeping your p2p activity hidden (to whats possible)
Your ISP is not spying on you nor do they really care what you do, they received a dmca notice from the copyright holder of whatever game you were downloading. Your ISP is legally obligated to forward the notice to you. Peer guardian and the like will indeed block known ip's, but to think it will guarantee your privacy and security is silly.
There is a beta of Peer Guardian for Vista: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/PeerGuardian_for_Windows_2000XP2003/1070597192/1 or http://www.teckh.com/?p=87 but like said above, they aren't 100% but they are the best available.
Just a heads up, RC1 doesn't work with Vista 64 bit. I had no problems running it with 32 bit, but no dice with the latter.
