Need help with ps2 modchip install

I bought a chipmod 2.0 pro ps2 modchip from www.modchips.ca and i was wondering if anyone can answer a few questions i have about the install. First off i have fat ps2 v9 and looking at the chips install diagram im confused because they show two spots to solder 4 points. The 4 points are B I G H. Heres the diagram

I really would rather do the 4 points on the pic to the right because it looks far easier. If i can do that then those spots are on the backside of the motherboard and was just wondering what area is the best to run the wires around to the front side?

Just go through the hole where a ribbon cable connects the laser to the motherboard.
