Hi I just my wii back after sending it off to get the argon chip put in it and when I put a game in and click play it freeze up. As soon as I click play the controller turns off and the only way to turn off the wii is to unplug it. Is this because I am using cheap disks or because the chip is installed wronge?
What media are you using? That does not seem to be a media problem but I may be wrong. Try different media, preferably Verbatim DVD-R and see what happens then. Also are you backing up your own games or downloads? Does it freeze with all games? Could be the iso if it is a download.
I have tried this on 2 different games mario kart and house of dead both I downloaded and used brick blocker on them, it detects the disk then when I click to play it the controller turns off instantly and it go's to a black screen

I agree with phelixnyc, in addition when the controller loses connection that means it's a bad media. I had the same problem with one disc. use verbatim to be sure
also make sure u have the right firmware that requires to run the game b4 playing it, if u already have the firmware, u can try to use trucha signer to fix the problem. worked for me on several games.
