Hello. I use DVDFab Platinum 5.0.2.0 to make DVDRips in .avi (h264) format. I've never experienced any problems with it up until today with a certain DVD. The first two and last three volumes converted perfectly with perfectly timed subtitles but the third volume is driving me nuts.

I played the DVD in my computer several times and there was no desync with the subtitles. However, when I attempt to rip and encode an episode from it with subs, the subtitles display about 8 seconds too early. The DVD is new by the way and I'm using the exact same method I used on the other five...

I already tried encoding an episode from it in other formats such as MP4, MKV, etc. with subs but got the same result. So, the problem isn't the file format.

What the hecks going on here?

If you can load the movie into DVD Shrink and reauthor the clip to a new folder (with the required subs) then open the folder with 'DVDSubedit' -
Select the required sub stream and click the 'Run OCR' button and 'Save as .srt'
The sub stream will be OCR'ed and a .srt file output - this file should show the correct timing.
I assume the your conversion program can handle .srt files.
