    I'm running Vista 32bit with a purchased Alcohol 120% 1.9.7.6221 version.

I'm attempting to make some virtual drives on my laptop so I don't have to take start-up Cd's, & DVDs with me when I travel for my job.

I was able to make a working virtual drive with COD4 (DVD) with out any problems, it's when I want to make a 2 set PC-CD mds file with Alcohol that I having a problem with.

I can copy a mds (ISO) file of the first CD with no problem, it's the 2nd CD that I can't seem to get a good mds file on.

This happens with 2 games I'm trying to make virtual drives for: SimCity4, and Command&Conquer Generals.

On both I can copy the first CD with no problems, it's the 2nd CD that I can't get a good copy of to make a virtual drive, and it's the 2nd CD you must have in your disk drive to start the game.

    Any help maybe?

    Thanks
    Dave

have you tried using a different disk mounter like daemon tools or poweriso?

no doubt disc contains a copy protection. i rarely use alcohol 120% perhaps it's better then the app i use but so far my app is simpler and has never let me down. it's called 5 star game copy now and it used to be called gamejack. i prefer gamejack as i'm used to it but they're pretty much the same. try it. 15 day trial.

alcohol makes mds, media descriptor files.

gamejack/5 star game copy males xms, extended media descriptor files (slightly larger in size)

GJ copies the disc and any errors (copy protection places) are skipped so you basically have a PERFECT 1:1 copy of the original disc so i would advise you to TRY this app. i'm sorry i can't help you with alcohol. i have no idea about that. oh! by the way, you'll have to use daemon tools virtual drive ( just click the xmd file but to see it you need to select show all files option instead of supported images) or you could use gamejack's virtual drives. daemon tools is free. gamejack is 15 day trial now called 5 star game copy
