I have swap magic 3.6.
The front of the disc tray has been removed.

Is there a way to load PS1 backups with my fat PS2? Me and my sis wanna play marvel vs capcom. I've heard of a method where you put in a original ps1 game (i have FF9) and swap it with the backup. And is there a method where i can play WITHOUT that code breaker or whatever its called?

I agree to just use Breaker Pro. Simple and easy to use.

But the method I believe you have heard about, is starting up your PS2 with no disc in, go to PS2 Browser

Insert Original PS1 game, then once its read and shows up in the Browser, to use the slide tool and swap it for the PS1 backup

Don't know how well that works or not or with what versions of PS2

Then if you have a V9 PS2 you can use uLaunch 4.12 to play PS1 backups.

launch Ule 4.12
set "disc control ON" in the settings
let uLaunchElf STOP the your triggerdisc in the drive
use a slide tool for swapping your triggerdisc for the backup
go to "filebrowser=>MISC=>PS2Browser"
You'll be redirected to the standard PS2 browser in which you'll see the "PSx cd" icon.
Select it, play your backup!

Otherwise if you have a PS1 Gameshark 4.1(was tested) you can also play backups on the other FAT versions of PS2.
1. Boot up your ps1 gameshark and choose your codes if you feel like cheating.
2. on the swap disc screen (the one where it says press X to continue), don't press eject, you want to use your slide card (or flip top if you have one) to remove the disc.
3. Put your backup on the disc tray and manually shut the drive (or close your flip top)
4. Press X and enjoy the game.
