    Hi,

I'm new here. This is my first post. I'm trying to get some advice on a problem I'm having with my TV. Here are the particulars. My signal is from comcast digital cable. My TV is a Samasung DLP, 50". Model HLR5067W.

The problem I'm having is occasionally the picture will freeze. The audio continues normally with a frozen picture. This will last for anywhere from about 5 seconds to about 20 seconds, at which time, the screen goes black, and then returns. When it returns, the source indicator "component 1" appears on screen, followed by the TV Guide bar, that I think is a Samsung TV option.

I don't watch a whole lot of DVDs, but haven't noticed this problem while watching a DVD, only when viewing cable TV content. It happens both when watching live and watching playback of DVR recordings. It's not in the recording, as I can rewind and replay and the problem is not duplicated.

I've spoken to Comcast and to Samsung, and each says it's a problem with the other. I don't know. Maybe it's neither. I hoping someone can give me some ideas on what would cause this problem. Thank you for your consideration and feedback.
