I have been burning Video-TS movies using Nero burning ROM successfully for a couple months now. Just recently every disc I burn when played in my DVD player plays in black and white and flips horizontally. I have tried burning at different speeds. Different blank media all to no avail. The disc burns still play perfectly on my PC or Laptop. Other movies including AVI files burnt with Nero vision work on the DVD player perfectly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks, David =]

there is a reason why the burned movie plays in black and white or flips and such...... it's because it is from a different region (PAL vs NTSC). Your computer is REGION FREE and that's why it plays properly on your computer. To avoid this problem use programs that will make your movie region free and it, too, will play properly on your TV's DVD player.

So your saying every file I burned up to that point (around 25) were all from a different region? And now every single one I attempt to burn (around 10) are from the same new region? All these files are downloaded from different sights (torrent trackers). This really doesn't sound very likely.

I tried to locate a region option on Burning Rom to no avail I know that Nero Vision has it, but vision will not burn video_ts with menus. It will burn the files, but there are annoying breaks between each file and a slight pause during playback. I'm lost really.

Yah, I already tried this. Nero vision doesn't burn Video_Ts folders with menus, original chapters etc... it burns them like an AVI and then there are these annoying breaks in the film between each file.

BTW regarding the double post, I didn't really read the rules. I just noticed that there was an actual nero thread after the first post. I could not figure out how to edit original post. But as I guessed some "Mrs. Kravitz" would come along and correct me, they always do, lol

if you have original DVD files (.vob, .ifo, and .bup) then use Nero Recode and just add the Title sets and keep the menu! problem solved!

Not sure exactly how to do that. So will this take care of the PAL vs. NTSC, region problem? And I will end up with a disc that plays with menus etc? If so, can you guide me through the process? Thanks, David

Well recode doesn't work. There isn't any option to change from PAL to NTSC. The final disc is the same as all the rest it flips in B&W. I have also tried IFoEdit to no avail. I guess i'll see if I can make another coaster with imgburn. I have posted on 3 different forum sights and not one of the suggestions have worked. People keep telling me what should work. Can someone please speak from there own experience. If you don't know first hand what you are talking about. PLeeeeeeeeaaaaase don't reply to this post. I am tired of waisting my time and money. Thanks.

if an avi converted to dvd with nero plays on your standalone player, then the player is AOK! and not the loose cable/scart socket problem from tv to dvd player.

an avi in pal or ntsc doesnt matter, if converted nero will make it what you set nero to be like in IHOE's picture above
    ---------------------------------

ok black and white as mentioned is 99% a pal/ntsc thing.

drag a good playing dvdr you made .VOB file out of it and drop it in GSPOT

then drag a black and white dvdr .VOB out of it into GSPOT

let us know if there both your region? whichever that is? pal or ntsc?
    ---------------------------------

if your downloading the entire dvd from torrent sites, some will say pal or ntsc in main title and some wont! you need to read the nfo file for the region on those that dont!

^ you can read that one ^

^ you can read that one ^

so no need to read the .NFO file

    and so on

My region is NTSC. Iv'e already seen that in IfoEdit.

These are torrent files. Some torrents unfortunately are only available in PAL. Especially the ones I have been wanting recently.

I tried ImgBurn, it didn't work.

Will someone who has done this please reply.
Like I said telling me what you have heard work or should work really is like a crap shoot. I can't imagine a mechanic telling a client to go buy a part that may fit his car.
I know forums are free, but what is the point if you have to waste valuable time and money, experimenting. Surely i'm not the first one with this problem. Yes i'm am being ungrateful, I am never grateful for something I don't need or want. I'm probably waisting my time.

well well........ here are people trying to help poor little old YOU and you are acting like a cry baby...... let's see........you have 2 Afertdawn Addicts and even one moderator replied to your questions and you even broke the rules and posted twice and here you act like a baby because it doesn't do what you want it to do..... or you don't like the answers?! Grow up!

Everyone here is telling you it's a PAL-NTSC problem....... what fixes that ..... using Nero (as I have shown you) will solve your regional problem or you can use ConvertXToDVD........ and if you don't like our answers then dig further and come up with something like this:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/search/...dzk&cof=FORID:11&q=converting+PAL+to+NTSC&sa=
just dig and you shall find! but to be so ungrateful to people who are just trying to help you out! at least your freaking mechanic gets paid..... you're getting freeeeeeee advice! I think I'm done with you!

    Google works wonders as well.

BTW, both IHOE and Rotary's suggestions are spot and will work...I've done it, so take your pick.

It's very hard to change a full pal dvd to ntsc. It's impossible if you want to keep all the menus intact.

Far better if you want to convert regions to rip just the main movie and then remaster it in whatever format you need...

Otherwise why not BUY THE DAMN THING instead of whining when your attempts to cheat the ripoff movie industry fails.
