Codec problem, will it still burn to disc?

    Hey, i got a problem. I have downloaded a tv show and it wont play on my WMP, i dont have the correct codecs. But if i burn it to disc will it play in my dvd player?

    Download 'VLC' and try playing it.

    If it's an xvid or divx, avi file and the standalone player supports divx and the file specifications meet the players requirements, then burning as a data file to a CD or DVD might be ok - but you really want to see if it works on the pC first.

    Hey thanks for the reply.

    It plays fine on VLC player, just not WMP, i only get sound on that.

    If it burn it through Nero, transcode it and format it will it play on my dvd player?

    I assume you want to convert to a DVD movie format.
    If Nero Vision accepts the source file, you should get a working disk out of it.
