My friend has a tv that he says he'll give me and that it supports 60hz (a.k.a NTSC)However it says it will cause it plays his NTSC DVDs
in colour. However he has a multi region dvd player.

What im wondering, is the Player converting the signal to 50hz or is the tv compatible with 60hz?
