hi i recently had to format my computer and when i went load some files on to my computer that i had encripted with winrar its says they are corupt or invalid!! they have the file extention .XEF, the internet cannot even find the approiate program!! and help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

have you tried changing it back to .rar? it might help. also are these files available on the internet and if so would it be easier to just redownload it

no these are old personal files, an there my only copy unfortunalty. i can't do anything with the files as no program reckonise's them. they password protected but before i formated i opened them many of times without a problem. thanks
