Hello, I'm wondering if I could run windows on a external hdd through USB? Ive seen booting of it through USB Flash drive, but that was using Bart PE. Is there a way to install full windows? How about compatibility? When I replace motherboard on computers I am required to fully reinstall windows most of the time, would External drives only work on one type of computer? Last is speed, is USB Harddrives fast enough to run games like Warcraft, or other games. Its about 480Mb/s or should it be eSATA 1.5Gbit/s (?)
If you know any info on this please tell me.
    Thanks.

Can't be done. Windows can NOT be installed on a removable drive. This is deliberate.

Ok, thanks. But how is those preinstalled environment and the windows PE work? It seem to be a really bad modified version of XP, that boot off cd,dvd/usb drives. Sometimes boot without correct drivers though. Another question. Can i install windows on a hard drive, then take it out and put it in a USB enclosure and boot off USB? It would probable only work for that computer and wont work on others, or would be giving bsod and incorrect drivers.
    Anyway thanks for your answer.
