backing up blue-ray to regular DVD

    Can anyone help me back up blue-ray to dvd...

    Are you sure you want to do this ? This is like trading in a a new top of the line Mercedes for a VW.

    no its not.
    You can rip a blu-ray and then refine it so that you end up with an MKV file. once there you can convert the mkv to vob which many dvd players will read. then just burn the vob to a data disc, which will mostly likely have to be a dual layer dvd to fit. You'll be able to do this with most movies without loosing any quality. search around on the net for all the steps to do this, I dont know much about the ripping and converting to mkv I just usually download mkv files and go from there.
