    Hello...

I'm new to this stuff, please bare with me. I'm looking to buy a dvd recorder to record some shows on the history channel. Anyway I have my eye on this one here:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...=product&tab=1&id=1199496320397#productdetail If you check the image/pic and click next to see the second image, you can see that it has 3 plugs(red, white, yellow) and I'm assuming it'll come with the wire plugs. I could ask them...

I have a very cheap tv, it's a sony trinitron. On the back and front side of my tv, it has the 3 plugs also. One side for my direct-tv and the other for whatever... That's about it. Is that all I need to record from the tv?

After ALL of 2007,I have "went" through, three,DVD recorders. So,I will "brag" ,somewhat here,"I have experience!" And it has been a TRIAL! One Cybeerhome(out of business),but burned many DVDs! Circuit City actually refunded my money after it failed ,OUT OF WARRANTY!So I go online to WalMart ,get the cheapest one:SV2000,by Funai.$50,that time. After many DVDs,it started having Disc errors and failures,BUT,still worked, until a redent TSorm!I decided to buy another SV2000,also Walmart, brother has one too! Got first one 01/07 and second one 12/07!($80!)Got my monies worth on both until the other day my power went out ,do to what Funai says:"Act of God"!(SEE MY LATEST POST)They said to unplug it for 15 minutes, and they should come on? I tried that to no avail.I have to wait till Tues(Holiday) ,to call Acoustic Researh(Recoton),AKA Audiovox.Their Surge protector worked on my Panasonic TV,Sony Surround sound Amp,DirecTv DVR! Funais SV2000,appears to be all I "Lost"?You should get ALL cables should come with yours,I have those hooked up to mine. Also known as RCA or Composite cables:yellow:video,Red Left,Right(audios)white! I remembered :Right Is White! Get back to ya! Or email me?

Uhh...thanks for the reply. I couldn't really understand what you where talking about but at the end you said...
That I understand and I'll look more into it. But I just want to make sure what else I need to record from the tv. Like I said I only have the 3 plugs(red, white, yellow) on my tv. And I know that I need a dvd-r or dvd-rw cd to write to. Is there anything else I'm missing?

If you need any other info from me, please ask and I'll post it up. Thanks in advance.
