I have a Dell Inspiron I5160 that can't connect to my wireless connection at home..Even when i connect it with a ethernet cable from the router to the laptop all it says is "acquiring network address" It looks like it's connected though because it also says Wireless conection: Home Speed: 54 Mbps Signal Strenght: Excellent When it's connected through cable. Whenever I open up a browser though it says trouble loading page and whatnot..Whats wrong with the laptop? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
are their any other pcs on your network i.e desktop or device? if so is it set to recieve DHCP from the router? if not... then whats your IP address from the Desktop and whats the IPaddress from the Laptop to find your ip goto start menu, then run, type "cmd" without quotes then type in the black console box "ipconfig" without quotes and it will display a few items... one of which will say IP address and a bunch of numbers at the side in this format xxx.xxx.x.x it may be, example 192.168.1.1 or something in the vacinity of that
