I have an instructor that wishes to take pieces from DVD files and put them on either powerpoint shows or just have small clips for instructional pieces (30 secs to 15 minute pieces). He is computer illiterate and the simplist way would be best. Quality is not a huge issue as long as it is viewable. Could someone recommend a program that could easily do this or a set of programs that could accomplish this task. It would be greatly appreciated.

CloneDVD Mobile allows you to rip certain parts of a DVD into video files, but you would have to use some other video editing software to only clip out the sections you would want.

DVD Shrink 3.2 can do what you want & it's free,although it has'nt been updated it's still fairly usefull ,there is a learning curve just like any software but it's pretty straight forward
