VLC won't play video, only sound

What would cause vlc, wmp, powerdvd to not play my divx movies that media player classic does play? It seems when i load a certain movie into vlc, wmp or powerdvd, it only plays the sound. Any got any suggestions?

Could be a codec issue. Media Player Classic I think comes loaded with many codecs, but if you want to get it to paly in all your other players, I would recommend installing the Combined Community Codec Pack.

Ever since I've installed that pack, I haven't had any problems playing any video files in other players.
