You must have custom firmware for this to work!!!(i used CFW 3.90 M33-3)you must have a memory stick at least the size of 1 GB
first get IRshell 3.9 for 3.90 M33 series, 3.8 for 3.80 M33 series and 3.7 for 3.71 M33 series
How to install IRshell on your psp
download IRshell from this link: http://exophase.com/files/psp/pspirshell39public.zip
step 1: put psp in USB mode.
step 2:once downloaded open it.
step 3: drag and drop the seplugins folder, the psp folder and the IRshell folder & put them in the root of the psp. if it says the file already exists hit yes to everything. if u already have a seplugins folder, just copy the files for IRshell seplugins contents to current seplugins folder. hit yes to everything if prompted. don't worry about replacing psp folder u shouldn't lose anything.
step 4: go into recovery mode go to plugins and disable irsautoboot.prx plugin. (so it wont start up automatically every time u turn on your psp.)
if having 3.90 M33 series then do this to get it to work.
IRshell patch thingy...
step 1: download from this link:
http://www.irshell.org/download/pspirshell39_update.zip
step 2: put psp in USB mode
step 3: open the file u just downloaded and drag and drop the fatmspatch file into the main IRshell folder.
now for the good part
step 1: go to this link to download the file with the latest televisions including lcd's and plasma's: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/281
step 2: put the psp in USB mode if not already.
step 3: drag and drop it into the root of the memory stick. (this will take a while considering that it has over 1800 different files for over 1800 TVs. it takes about 5 to 15 minutes...)
Getting it to work
step 1: go into recovery mode and go to configurations then change the kernel from 3.9 to 1.50 then exit recovery mode.
step 2: go to game then memory stick, (don't worry about the corrupt data..DON'T DELETE IT!!!) then choose IRshell (it should have palm tree leafs in the background.)
accessing the remote control mechanic
never ever hit the home button!! it will crash your psp
step 1: you should be in a menu with a bunch of icons. go to the top right and hit X over the one that says iR Remote View
step 2: hit square once. you should get a menu with IRSHELL/, MP_ROOT/, MUSIC/, PICTURE/, PSP/, REMOTES/, and VIDEO/
step 3: use the d-pad and scroll down to IRSHELL/.... hit X.
step 4: again scroll down to IRSHELL/ and hit X
step 5: hit X on IRCODES
step 6: hit X on Codes/
step 7: use the d-pad to scroll down to the brand name. once found hit X
step 8: try to find the id of your TV usually on the remote or on the front of the TV's manual.
step 9: once you found the id, hit X over it. (sometimes it doesn't say the exact code. for example my toshiba's id is CT-9725, but the file closest to it is CT-9726 and it still works.
step 10: when done just hit select until it brings you to the main menu of IRshell. scroll down to the icon that says, exit IRshell and hit X to take you back to your psp's main menu.

just fix the links on the first one. Use the edit post. May I add something.
This only works for PSP fat. PSP slim does not have IR. Also, if you are a person like me who doesnt like to install irshell. Use the PSP Universal Remote (must have 1.50 addon)

certain setups work for vcr and dvd players. if u have RCA tv's for example you can control a vcr player. just look it up in the main menu for all the remotes.

but i already told u. in the PM thread. the guide originally did not have the links working because i messed up on them and at the time did not know how to fix them (i.e.: edit thread) so the blank post u see was the copy of the first one with links working. once u told me how to edit my posts. i put links working on 1st one and made 2nd one blank since i could not get rid of it. and the post with "waz up?" on it, was because i put something in that wasn't true, and realized this after i posted it, so i changed it. well that was a typeful... >_>
