Howdy Folks
I'm really hoping that there's a kind hearted soul out there that will be able to help me out. I recently purchase a starview 3 the box super and apparently I need to download the software called GTROM_7.05 to install on it.
CAN SOMEBODY HELP?? PLEASE!!

hey i have just brought a The Box Super starview 3 and i have done the channel scan but i cannot watch all the channles e.g sports or any film channels because it says scrammbeled or bad channel? i dunno wat 2 do so could any help me???

ive got all the software i need now but wen i try 2 download the firmware it doesnt seem to move off 0% how long does it take to update the firmware on The Box Super starview 3??

try going into the menu and pressing 1570. turn key EMU on and press set default key. exit to a channel and wait a few seconds and it will update the code.

ive tried 1570 many time but its doesnt do anything? i really dunno wat to do?

Dan when you say you have done it many times this is exactly what you need to do:
turn on box. press menu. then press 1.5.7.0 this will bring you into the secret menu. try it again and come back.....

try menu, parental lock, press info then 2004. if that doesn't work you need to update the version it's FTA.

i pushed menu and pressed 1570 like you said but no screen has came up its just stays on the menu screen??

you need to put on a version thats not only free to air. are you sure you have a null modem and not an rs232?
press menu and go to system info and check what the API ver is.

the API ver is 7.08e
and yer ive got a rs232 cable but it conects into the null cable so i can connect it to my laptop
and 1668 doesent work either?

i think he cannot download program to box,
have u tried changing com port 1 to 2 to see which works,are u using a null modem cable or usb cable?

does ur laptop have a serial port usually has rs232 printed on it?
if u have wrong cable it will not download people are usually given wrong cable,correct cable is null modem cable

im using com port 3 and its the null cable connected into the back of the starview 3 box and then the other end is connected into the rs232 cable then the other end of the rs232 cable is a usb so its goes into the usb port on my laptop

Sorry Dan, if you dont have firmware loaded then 1570 or 1668 dont go any were.LOL do as the lads are telling you and flash the box then the 1570 will work, any probs someone will be around!

it sasy the STB model is GCR 3510
wats does that mean?

have u tried changing in downloader the com port?
i know u can get problems with a usb adaptor some laptops work some dont!

It's model info. Just press download and see what happens. try all ports in case the program is mixed up.
