hi i just installed a new hard drive in to my pc and it is showing up in my computer as a cd rom drive , but the thing is that when i got into device manager i show it as a hard drive. do you think that i should worry about this or could it be somthing to do with my windows install.

i have 3 hard drive and dvd rom drive and a dvd rw drive.

    HARD DRIVES
    seagate babracuda 80gig sata X 2
    maxtor ide 80gig drive.

    DVD DRIVES

i check in my bios and it says that my dvd drives arer dvd drive and it says that my hard drives are hard drives. has anyone got a cule what this could be it bugging me lol. o and i am not running the sata drivein RAID MODE.

    thanks

does it just have the wrong picture in my computer or does it actually say it's a DVD-ROM drive or whatever underneath? Sometimes windows can get the icons confused.

Hm, not sure. I usually try changing the colour settings to 16-bit and back to 32-bit, seems to clear out my icon issues.
