A month ago i was able to hook up my laptop to my lcd tv via vga cable just fine. It has been about a month since i used the connection, but now when i try hooking my laptop up to my tv all i get is a black screen on the tv. The tv does detect the connection to the laptop, but it does not display what the laptop displays, only a black screen. What is the problem?
have you changed the desktop resolution? Check you have it set to one that the TV manual say it will accept over VGA.
