There is a certain custom FW that you can get to play backup xbox games, but it's not one of the iXtreme FW's! Look on Google or here for it!

That's right, it's the xtreme firmware that you will want! Whereas the iXtreme you can play online with it!

Did you write that correctly: Ixtreme allows you to play xbox live without getting banned?

Samsung drives are the only ones that will boot up DVD-R backups and it has to be xtreme not ixtreme firmware as stated. Book typing doesn't matter unless you were using a really old firmware.

Also for evolmindz,

I have a working backup copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 playable on ixtreme 1.4.

I think Hitachi with xtreme 5.3 can still play xbox1s but only on DVD DL. (DVD9)

someone confirm this.

Hitachi will will play ixtreme Xbox backups, but they do have to be on DLs.

Sorry guys I had some typos there. Fixed.

I've played a couple of ixtreme patched Xbox backups on my Benq drive. I don't know where to get the SS patch for Marvel Capcom, but you can PM me and I can email you the one from my copy. As far a getting Xbox backups to work on a Benq drive you'll have to pad them up to DVD-9 size if they aren't already. You can used mulleter for that, but you can't zero pad (which mulleter does) for ixtreme 1.4. To get an Xbox backup to work on ixtreme 1.4 it will have to be properly ripped to meet ixtreme specs.

okay so i haven't opened up my 360 yet to be flashed. i have a hitachi drive apparently but i am not sure what version it is b/c the tools needed to open my 360 have not arrived. i just want a heads up. i am hearing a lot about stealth and such to play games. i don't plan to ever pay for xbox live gold anymore but at the same time i am not sure if i still need gold to get expansions and such for my games. Who knows if LIVE will ever become free like PSN. On to topic though, i am debating which firmware to flash onto my drive. i want to play both xbox and x360 isos on my drive and d/l content. From what i've read xbox 1 backups are pretty hard to make. i don't see myself grabbing a lot of xbox 1 games but would d/l scene releases be the way to go for those in order to play them all on my 360???

I've run some xbox1 isos that were pre-patched and ntsc-u thru dvdmulletor and none could be read by my xbox.
