It really depends on how you look at it. There are no more releases coming, but 1000's of people still have players and are able to play the movies they already have. I have both formats, and 100's of hi-def movies. Those that collect HD DVD or both, just enjoy hi-def. At over 1400 members, we still discuss movies for release, other applications of hi-def content, import,specs etc. So, "outdated" is really in the eye of the beholder.
