I have been trying to pin point a good time to buy a 360, but after reading reports of the falcon chipsets getting the RROD I think I am still skepticle. I believe I will just wait until the jasper units start emerging. Then I will here those machines crappying out. by the time they get it right the Xbox 360 2 will be out probably. Anyway, I was debating on getting the elite vs pro. Obviously the harddrive is the big difference. I am sure I will go way over the 20 gigs, so my question is, can't I just use a external hard drive via usb as a harddrive to dl and play demos on the 360?

But I think they can be used to play video files, which is a big plus.

you have to use official hard drive to play and dl game demos and saves

The only thing an external hard drive is good for with a 360 is playing avis and music
