In the "Advanced options" at the bottom of the new post / thread window, there's a box that's labeled, "Check here for e-mail notifications when this thread is updated" (paraphrased). It's defaulted to, "Yes, send me e-mail." I understand that it's a fairly easy click to turn it "off" if you don't want it, but wouldn't it make more sense to keep it "off" unless you wanted it? Meaning, by default, it's not checked. At the very least, there should be an option somewhere...
