PEAA is a protection error message basically you may have used the wrong firmware try reflashing with the correct firmware, are you sure of the model type and clone status?
Thanks for the reply celtic the box as been working perfect up to last night when there was a power surge when it came back on it was displaying this message peaa on the front of the box.Is there any wat around this thanks i also think it is a clone box so would be grateful if you can point me in the direction of a new file to flash.
can you try and flash with the 18/04 kuro which can be found in eamos library download the ufl connect the box to your pc leave the box in standby then unplug the box press download on the ufl and then plug your box back in,its worth a go try a few times if it dosnt work first time, the only firmware fix out at the moment for clones is for the blue clone.
I have downloaded the file and will give it a try in the morning and will get back to you with the results. THANKS for all your help.
still no look with trying to force a flash on the box. just read something about changing a capacitor could this be the trouble with the box losing power when there was a problem in the area this happened about 4 times in a night the electricity going off.Any info on the cap much appreciated.
The cap is the C14 on the PSU board. But your PEAA message may actually indicate that you have a clone box. Have you tried any pre Kuro firmware?
Thanks for the reply sc0user i have not tried any other software other than the ufl max 4 dated the 18/04/08. I would say the box is a definite clone bought from a known clone seller but only found out afterwards. it looks like the box in the 1st picture posted by karljd. any suggestions appreciated as it was working fine till the problems with the electricity.Thanks.
Check the cap by all means, but if its a clone I would say try an earlier firmware on it even thought it may not AU. The clonesafe firmware will work on blue boxes, but I have thought of trying it on a clone MaxV as I have a sneaky suspicion that it may work, but I havent come across a Max V clone. And hence havent had the opportunity. Who was the seller? I could read the TSOP and make some comparisions but thats another story.
I only got wise afterwards apparently it changed names from s.s.s. so one things for certain then its a definite clone. I will try an earlier firmware thanks for all the help......
