I just bought an iPod classic 80gb, and will open it in two days after my exams finish. I want to take it to the gym with me, for using on the treadmill and weights machine.
My friend said that if the iPod in my pocket while I am running on the treadmill and playing music on it, it will get messed up, beacuse the needle/head of the hard drive will get wrecked.

Can someone clarify whether this is true and if it is safe to tkae it to the gym????

    Thanks
PS I will get a protective case eg TUFFWRAP before I take it.

i run/walk the threadmill with mine and its fine. sometimes i forget its in my pocket and it will stop/skip so you either want to hold it in your hand while running or get a case and put it around your arm

    Thanks for the heads-up

I'll probably put it where you're supposed to put your bottle on the actual treadmill itself, so it doesn't move about, or get the arm case

    Thanks again
