I have vista ultimate, i have 2 partitions, 1 for the vista installation & 1 for my data files. Their on 1 500GB hard drive, C:172GB & D:292GB. I just need to make D: go up to 380GB & take C: down to 90GB without losing the data on D:. Also don't say just buy another hard drive because i don't want another one at the moment but i need more space, i'm just trying to work with what i've got. Thanks

you need software, like partition magic. that allows you to resize the two partitions according to your needs.

the trial software will not work. you will need the full version to resize.
